Secure Your Digital Assets

Independent cybersecurity resource platform for hardware wallet setup and verified safety practices. Learn how to prepare your device and follow verified setup instructions.

Device Preparation

Step 1: Unboxing

Open the box carefully. Verify the device's serial number and ensure the original security seal is intact and unbroken.

Step 2: Seal Check

Inspect the original packaging for any tampering. The security seal should be a clear, unbroken strip of matte black plastic.

Step 3: Connection

Connect your Trezor device to a trusted computer via USB-C. Wait for the device to be recognized by the Trezor Setup Guide.

Verified Setup

Step 1: Secure Initialization

Connect your Trezor device to a trusted network. Follow the on-screen prompts to initialize the hardware wallet using a verified PIN. This step is critical for establishing the first layer of device integrity.

Step 2: Recovery Verification

Verify your recovery information by entering your 12-word seed phrase. Ensure that the displayed QR code matches the one on your physical wallet. Never share your seed phrase with anyone.

Step 3: Final Confirmation

Review all setup parameters one final time. Once confirmed, the device will be ready for use. Always store your hardware wallet in a secure, offline location after the initial setup is complete.

Step 4: Secure Storage

After setup, keep your device in a safe, offline environment. Avoid exposing the device to public Wi-Fi or untrusted networks. Your private keys are generated and stored exclusively on your hardware.

The Recovery Seed

Recovery information serves as your ultimate safety net. It is the only way to restore access to your Trezor device if it is lost, damaged, or stolen. Always store your recovery seed in a secure, offline environment.
